We support clean air, water, and water quality improvement initiatives to keep pollutants out of our drinking water. We are against any partisan effort to change the governance of the Des Moines Water Works.

 

Democrats favor land conservation and funding for lake and river-way restoration efforts. Ensuring that nature’s gift is protected for outdoor lovers, nature enthusiasts, and families that care about where their children are playing is very important – and our platform and budget proposals reflect that commitment. Democrats strongly support the Resource Enhancement and Protection (REAP) fund and proper funding of the Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation Trust Fund.
