Primary Election – June 2, 2026

March 24, 2026 – First day to requested an absentee ballot.
May 13, 2026 – First day of early voting at the Polk County Election Office (2309 Euclid Ave., Des Moines). Hours will be Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Absentee ballots will be mailed.
May 18, 2026 – Last day to request an absentee ballot; all requests MUST be at the Election Office by 5 p.m.
June 2, 2026 - Election Day! Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. All absentee ballots must be returned to the Election Office by 8 p.m.. You can surrender your ballot at your polling location.
